The ACS works in parallel with licensing to set standards for suppliers of private security services. When your organization displays the ACS accreditation mark, you will reassure your customers, prospective customers and employees that they’ve chosen to work with one of the very best security providers in the industry. They will know that your organization has been measured against and has met a rigorous set of independently assessed standards

To be eligible, you must:
Be a business that supplies at least two licensable operatives under a contract for security industry services and in each sector, you are applying.
Supply licensable individuals under a contract for security industry services. Labour providers are not eligible to seek approval from the ACS.
Supply security industry services in the United Kingdom.
Supply security industry services under a contract. In-house security providers are not eligible to join the ACS.
Hold at least one current contract for the supply of security industry services; and
Have been supplying security industry services for at least 12 months at the time of application.
If you make an SIA ACS application and you do not meet the above eligibility requirements, your application will not be accepted.

You must comply with British standard BS 7960.
You must comply with British standard BS7984.

An assessment body approved by the security industry authority will conduct a verification visit to your premises and check your company against the SIA ACS requirements to ensure compliance.
The SIA doesn’t normally assess contractors directly.
